Feature · Payments & payouts

Pay creators clearly and exactly once.

Businesses fund a tenant-scoped wallet, reserve campaign funds, and settle the agreed amount to a creator — captured on an append-only, balanced ledger. Creators see available, pending and total earned. Payments currently run in a provider sandbox (test mode).

For businesses & creators

Fund, reserve, settle

Fund your wallet, reserve campaign funds, and release the agreed amount to the creator.

Exactly-once settlement

The settlement amount is server-derived from accepted terms and can never be paid twice.

Balanced, auditable ledger

Every movement is recorded in integer minor units with explicit currency — no balance is minted.

Clear creator earnings

Creators see available, pending and total-earned amounts with campaign-linked history.

Hosted, secure onboarding

Payout identity and bank details are collected by the payment provider's hosted flow, not stored in KIN Create.

Idempotent operations

Invite response, reserve and settlement are idempotent, so retries never double-charge.

Step by step

How a payment flows

  1. 1

    Fund the wallet

Add funds to your tenant-scoped business wallet in the sandbox flow.

  2. 2

    Reserve for a campaign

Reserve the agreed amount so it is ring-fenced for the collaboration.

  3. 3

    Approve the work

Review and approve the creator's deliverables in the campaign.

  4. 4

    Settle to the creator

Release the server-derived agreed amount; the creator's wallet is credited in the same transaction.

1. Test mode today, real-money-ready by design

Payment features currently operate in a provider sandbox (test mode). No live-money processing is offered yet, and the interface makes that explicit. The ledger and flows are built so that enabling real payments later is an operational change, not a rewrite.

2. A ledger you can trust

Capture, release and refund states post to an append-only, balanced ledger using integer minor units and explicit currency. The creator wallet credit is written in the creator's tenant in the same transaction as the escrow debit, so balances always reconcile.

3. Reconciliation, never silent mismatches

Where results are reconciled against canonical evidence, mismatches enter an owned exception queue and can never close silently — they resolve only with a mandatory, audited reason.

Frequently asked questions

Is real money moving today?
No. Payments run in a provider sandbox (test mode). When real processing launches, additional payment terms will be shown before you use them.
Can a creator be paid twice for the same work?
No. Settlement is server-derived from accepted terms and idempotent, so it happens exactly once even if a request is retried.
Where are my bank details stored?
Sensitive identity and bank details are collected by the payment provider's hosted flow, not stored in the KIN Create dashboard.
How do refunds work?
Refund states post to the same balanced ledger; refunds are capped to what is actually wallet-backed so no spendable balance is minted.
What currency is used?
Amounts are recorded in integer minor units with explicit currency; creator settlements in the current sandbox are denominated in EUR.
